Cambridge Flow Solutions Ltd.
Philosophy
Removal of bottlenecks. To break the bottlenecks which currently prevent rapid simulation within industrial design environments of real but arbitrarily complex geometries.
Integration. To create a software environment which can host an integrated, multidisciplinary simulation system. We want to enable efficient simulation across all business areas.
Parallelism. To implement this software with end-to-end parallelism of the solid modelling, mesh generation, flow solving and post-processing to allow problems of arbitrary size to become routine.
Robustness. To enable robust integrated workflow and automated design optimisation of geometries of arbitrary size and complexity.
History and status
CFS is a company spun out from Cambridge University Engineering Department. The company was founded in 1999. From an original experience base in aerodynamics, combustion and turbomachinery we have since developed additional and significant domain knowledge in motorsport.
Our core business has always been added-value in the CFD process chain. The technical development arc has covered Bill Dawes' code BTOB3D - licensed to over 45 blue-chip clients from 1985-1996 - to our latest offering, Boxer. This arc represents our response over the years to our clients' increasing ambition and requests - Boxer, for extreme rapid-prototyping, is our current focus.
