Giles Richardson
Senior Development Engineer
Giles Richardson studied Mechanical Engineering at Leicester University and then did a PhD in advanced two-equation turbulence modelling at the College of Aeronautics, Cranfield University.
He has completed 6 month placements at the British Gas Research Centre (Loughborough) and DERA (Bedford). Following this he spent 4.5 years at Westland Helicopters in Yeovil in both the Rotor Systems and the Fluid Dynamics Groups. After this he took at 2.5 year post-doctoral position in the CFD Lab at Cambridge University Engineering Department, working on a PUMA DARP project using the Rolls-Royce HYDRA code to model Harrier vertical descent for Hot Gas Ingestion analysis.
More recently he has spent 9 months working at Rolls-Royce (Bristol) in Military Installations and then 6 months at Rolls-Royce (Derby) within the Civil Installations group. He joined CFS in mid-September 2007.
