Orthodox Approach - Best in Class Philosophy

CFD Best in class
'Best in Class' process structure

Most CFD users operate a 'best in class' approach to choosing vendors for their CFD software. Picking the most appropriate vendor for each step allows users to pursue the most efficient course for each step in turn.

This approach gives users the very best mesh generation code for their application, coupled with the most efficient solver. At face value this mix and match approach creates an optimised, hybrid CFD process.

However, this fragmentation of the process introduces large numbers of bottlenecks into the cycle. The steps between each of these can involve complex import/export filters, working limitations in different vendor's code against one another and intensive serial processes.

The 'best in class' also greatly limits the freedom of a user, where design iterations normally require a full repeat of the entire cycle. While some third party packages permit surface and volume mesh morphing, this still presents constraints to the designer due to the standard edge-surface based representation of the underlying CAD; true topological freedom remains solely within the domain of the CAD software.

A 'best in class' approach can yield good results, but always the most costly. A high fidelity flow representation is of limited value if the cost required stifles creativity in the design process.

A true hybrid can only be reached if there is sufficient commonality

across all the steps of the process to permit flawless integration and process parallelisation.

BoXeR Philosophy
BoXeR combines editable solid modeling with mesh generation, flow solving & post processing coupled together with very efficient and inherently parallelisable data structures. Rapid design changes - including arbitrary topological geometry change - permit a rapid-prototyping approach to simulation.

The BoXeR suite eliminates the need for many vendor's software. It permits extremely quick, very large mesh calculations to be run, with the added benefit of advanced design modification post processing tools.

BoXeR succeeds by recognizing & supporting the goals of your CFD process - it is not about creating a mesh or converging a solution, but instead is about freeing your time and resources to learn more about your design.

BoXeR also cuts costs through the need for fewer software licenses and fewer resources required to accomplish a given number of design iterations.
