MeshTools is the CFS suite for geometry morphing and manipulation. Users can make changes to their model - both surface and volume mesh – and re-run the solver without the need to revisit the CAD-to-Mesh steps. The suite makes use of Free-Form Deformation technology (FFD, also known as ASD), where objects of arbitrary complexity can be deformed smoothly as if embedded within rubber. The suite also provides standard mesh deformation techniques such as 2D/3D spring models and mesh quality control.

MeshTools also adds value where design solutions cannot be achieved with standard FFD software. Surface and volume mesh changes to effect real complex rideheight changes with racing cars, for example, requires customised non-standard FFD in combination with standard 2D/3D spring models and detailed handling of viscous mesh features; and all highly customised to gain access to the raw kinematic data (from CAD) of the baseline object.
